Ok, so lately motivation has been diminishing and self-doubt has been surfacing more and more...I decided that I needed a swift kick in the pants to get me moving again. Sooooo...I just officially signed up for my first race...The Augusta Half-Marathon at the end of October.
Did I just bite off more than I can chew?
Screw that! I'm going to DO this!!
Hell, I've already spent the money.
DUDE!
ReplyDeleteThis is so freaking awesome!

ReplyDeleteI am thinking the same thing. I signed up for a half marathon in November. It is so hot down here in Florida and hard to run but I keep thinking it will be much cooler in the Fall. So I think we both did the right thing when we signed up for our half marathons in the Fall. Good Luck. You are an inspiration to me. I have enjoyed reading your blog. I know we can do it.
Thanks, Lisa! I'm in south GA, so I totally feel you when it comes to the heat. Thankfully, I'm pretty new at running so I'm hard-pressed to remember a time when I wasn't running in the heat. I'm so glad you signed up for a half, too! We can commiserate together and encourage each other. You're right, we can so do this.
ReplyDeleteYay!!! You totally rock and if it was not a three day drive I would be right there on the side lines cheering you on in that marathon!! Who knows, I might win the lottery, charter a private jet, and make it in time to follow you chanting the whole time in my air conditioned golf cart!! (hey, doctors orders remember!) Anyway I know your going to rock that marathon and it will open the door to so many more in the future. Oh and a side note on the previous post..Take that old Jen and put in your pipe and smoke it! Ha! I freaking love your guts dude!!
ReplyDeleteWhooa! Marathon. I hope you do a lot of stretching and warm ups on the day of the Marathon. Good luck and I admire how brave you are.
